Grand Rapids Community College will be hosting the NJCAA Region XII Basketball Tournament in 2019 and 2020, the NJCAA governing board announced this week.
The tournament will host top community college basketball players from around the region. In total, the NJCAA Region XII has 33 schools in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, and the tournament will include both men's and women's basketball teams.
The winning bid was the result of a partnership between GRCC and the West Michigan Sports Commission. The tournament will be one of the first major events to be held at the recently renovated Ford Fieldhouse.
