The 2nd-ranked Grand Valley State football team welcomed in Truman State for Homecoming on Saturday.

The Lakers did not disappoint the large home crowd in Allendale as GVSU racked up 41 first downs behind 522 total yards of offense as they beat the Bulldogs 41-3.

Bart William's threw for 279 yards with two touchdowns to Nick Dodson. Dodson caught 5 balls for 120 yards on the afternoon.

Marty Carter also did his thing on the ground rushing for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Collin Schlosser led the defense with 10 tackles.

GVSU hits the road next week as they'll play at Hillsdale at 2:30 p.m.
