Michigan usually only goes to the East Coast for a football game once per year. But lately, it seems like the Wolverines are a hurricane magnet.
After last season's game at Maryland was moved earlier in the day to avoid an impending hurricane, this weekend's game at Rutgers (7 p.m. Saturday, ESPN2) also is threatened.
Hurricane Matthew is in the Cuba area this afternoon, and projections by to the National Hurricane Center have it hitting the mid-Atlantic by early Saturday.
Neither school nor conference officials were immediately available for comment this afternoon.
When told about the possibility of bad game-time weather in Piscataway, N.J., during his Monday radio show, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh didn't seem bothered. He only said that equipment manager Gary Hazelitt will "have them in the right shoes and the right gloves and the right equipment."
