The Cornerstone Men's basketball team played for the NAIA Division 2 National Championship Tuesday night in Missouri. And here in Grand Rapids, their peers cheered them on at a watch party.

Dozens of students packed the Mol Arena to watch the Golden Eagles take on the Union College Bulldogs.

"This is Cornerstone pride in a sense, we have a lot of things to be thankful for at this university." said Cornerstone University President, Jow Stowell.

"Great things are happening and athletics are important to us and being in a national championship game is huge." said Stowell.

Unfortunately, Cornerstone lost 72-69, ending the season with a 34-4 record.
