This week’s Meijer Scholar Athlete is Nathan Veihl of Muskegon Reeths Puffer.
Nathan is a multi sport athlete but played only football this year to focus on preparing to play college football next year.
While he hasn’t decided where he wants to go yet, he should have his pick of schools with his 3.9 GPA through high school.
Nathan also helps mentor special needs children in the area and one of the lessons he tries to pass to them is one that he learned from football and uses every day in the classroom.
“If at first you don’t succeed try try again, that’s always a good one and really stay with it more. You're not going to like everyone, all your teachers what your homework is," says Nathan, "but just like athletics you won’t always like what happens to you but you have to bounce back from it and come back positive.”
