This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete is Kent City's Kaitlyn Geers.

The senior is the leader on the court but also in the classroom with her perfect 4.0 GPA.

When she isn't busy studying, she is leading the Eagles in basketball, track and volleyball.

She will graduate and then head to Saginaw Valley State where she will play basketball and study pre-med with a goal of being a sports doctor.

Despite her success, Kaitlyn doesn't think of herself as an example to follow but as a friend to help others to succeed.

"I don't know if it's that as much as just being a friend to them," says Kaitlyn. "I like to lead and help them out with whatever struggles they have but Id rather be a friend then a motivator. Just push them and help us all get better."
