Tuesday night's game six of the Calder Cup finals was sold out, but that didn't stop fans from showing support.

Dozens of Griffins fans showed up Tuesday, June 13, at Peppino's Sports Bar in downtown Grand Rapids for the team's official watch party.

"To see the players win to see the players fight and to cheer them on it's so exciting," Karen Smith said.

Smith's love for the Griffin's comes from her two sons who play hockey.

"My kids played hockey since they learned to skate, and I'm a hockey mom and I love hockey," Smith said

But it's not just the fans who love the Griffins success: businesses in downtown say they've seen a boost during the playoffs.

"As far as our business, we've seen an uptick of anywhere from 3 to 6 percent increase each game, so it's been very beneficial for us," says Jacob Durso, a manager at Peppino's.

Tuesday night's ticket was so hot that it led to a very active secondary market with tickets selling for much higher than face value.
