The Whitecaps saw their 3-0 lead slip away in the first inning before responding in the middle innings to win 6-5 over the Lansing Lugnuts Wednesday night.

Afer Lansing tied the game 3-3 in the botom of the first, the 'Caps took a 4-3 lead in the 4th inning with an RBI-single by Chad Sedio. West Michigan added two more runs in the fifth after a run-scoring double by Austin Athmann and he was brought home by Cole Bauml with an RBI single - his third hit of the night to take a 6-3 lead.

The win gives the Whitecaps a 9-2 record against the Lugnuts this season.

The two teams will wrap up their three-game series Thursday night in Lansing at 7 pm.
