Car driving woman in labor to the hospital flips multiple times, no serious injuries

While trying to pass a vehicle, the driver lost control due to icy road condition and ran off the roadway, overturning multiple times.

A one-vehicle rollover crash caused minor injuries Wednesday morning in Mecosta Township.

The incident happened around 2:50 a.m. on southbound US-131 near 8 Mile Road. Police say the vehicle was being driven by an 18-year-old woman from White Cloud. She was taking a 35-year-old woman who was in labor to the hospital, along with a 27-year-old Kent City man.

While trying to pass a vehicle, the driver lost control due to icy road condition and ran off the roadway, overturning multiple times.

All three occupants were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
