West Michigan has enjoyed a rare weekend full of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures, but that comes to a close as the work week arrives.

A strong system is edging toward the Great Lakes, pumping in summer-like temperatures. The unusually warm air lingers Monday, April 10, before colder air sweeps in Tuesday.

The timing of the cold front is favorable for storm formation, meaning several key ingredients will be present to boost storm strength. Expect storms to pop up in the early evening hours of Monday.

The Storm Prediction Center has most of West Michigan in the 'slight' risk on Monday, April 10th. Biggest threats will be gusty winds and heavy rain. 

Some storms may reach severe criteria. The threats from these storms include gusty winds and heavy rain.
