A powerful storm will provide the threat for severe weather and flooding Wednesday, July 12.

The first round of the storm will provide very heavy rainfall and strong thunderstorms through early afternoon. The main threat from this line will be from flooding -- three to four inches are possible in some places.

A few of the stronger cells could contain some hail and gusty winds.

The second round of the storm will provide the best chances for severe weather -- though confidence in that coming to fruition is low. However, the more sunshine we see in the afternoon, the better our chances will be for strong damaging winds.

These storm cells will begin to arrive after 5 p.m. in West Michigan.

The 13 On Target Weather Team will continue to update the risks associated with this storm throughout the day.

A cold front Wednesday evening will be the trigger for strong to severe thunderstorms late Wednesday.
