Snow showers are falling, and bringing high snow amounts to some in West Michigan.

A fast-moving clipper system brought snow showers starting late Friday night, and the snow will keep falling Saturday. Widespread snow showers will wind down around mid-day, but lake-effect snow bands set up in the evening.

Areas away from the lakeshore will generally receive another inch of snow or less through Saturday. Those close to the lakeshore will have another 2-4" possible. Holland and south may be closer to 6 or more inches of snow.

Snowfall totals through the day will generally be the highest at the lakeshore. Communities in southwest Michigan could have 6" or more snow through Saturday. (Photo: WZZM 13 News)

A winter weather advisory is in effect until noon for most in the advisory. Allegan and Van Buren county will keep the advisory until 7 PM.

Roads will be slick as snow continues to fall, but will improve for inland communities as the afternoon continues. Driving will be tougher at the lakeshore all day.
