Farm-to-table sports bar to open at Cascade Center

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A new farm-to-table sports bar will open this winter at the Cascade Center.

The Blue Moose owners, Robert Aldridge and Jason Starr, signed the lease on Oct. 3. Aldridge also owns The Ada Pour House in Ada.

“We decided to open The Blue Moose because we wanted to do something unique and special for this area of 28th Street and build off the success of The Ada Pour House,” said Aldridge in a press release. “My wife previously worked at the Cascade Sports Bar and Grill, so we’ve always loved the space and now we get to put our own unique spin on it.”

The Blue Moose will accommodate up to 175 guests and will feature a food menu made with locally-sourced ingredients. The owners also have plans to do significant renovations to the current space, which was formerly the Cascade Sports Bar and Grill.

Renovations include adding garage doors as part of a new facade, renovating the kitchen and replacing the current bar. There will also be games such as darts, shuffleboard and keno.

“We’re looking forward to transforming this restaurant into a place where people can relax and enjoy delicious meals, watch a game and catch up with friends," said Starr in the release.

The new sports bar will also create 20-25 new jobs.

An official opening date has not been released.
