2016 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions stops in Grand Rapids

The event showcases gymnasts from the 20-12 and 20-16 Olympic games.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Ever since the Olympics there has been an increased interest in gymnastics, especially on the women's side.

Sunday, some people in Grand Rapids got a treat as the 2016 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions rolled into town. The event showcased gymnasts from the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games.

Former gymnast Lindsey Klinker instilled her passion for gymnastics in her daughter, Taylor.

"She has lots of determination and she makes me so proud that she follows my footsteps," Klinker said.

Which is why the two jumped at the chance to watch the girls they love, do their thing.

Many young gymnasts were showing off their moves in preparation for the show.

"I used to do gymnastics and they [Simon Biles and Gabby Douglas] were like my favorite gymnast ever," Breanna Hyde, 11 said.

"Do your best and be happy, that's what life is about," Klinker said.

The Kellogg's Tour began in September in Washington state and will visit 36 cities across the country-- the tour will end in Boston on Nov. 13.
