Behind the Mitten: Comic Con, Beer Fest, Zoo Goes Boo & more!

MICHIGAN - After a couple of weeks on the road, John "Gonzo" Gonzalez is back in the WZZM 13 Studio to share what's happening this weekend "Behind the Mitten."

►Meg George from Forest Hills Fine Arts Center shares details of its 13th season. The 2016-2017 season will feature “Something For Everyone,” with our professional series, which kicks off on October 20, 2016 and wraps-up on March 22, 2017.

►8th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival, Oct. 21-22; Eastern Market in Detroit. Join the Michigan Brewers Guild at Eastern Market in October for one of the largest all-Michigan beer tastings around. Attendees can enjoy some incredible food from Detroit area restaurants (available for purchase) and listen to a talented line-up of local musicians while sipping any of more than 700 craft beers from over 80 Michigan breweries.

Zoo Goes Boo, Oct. 21-23; John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids Comic Con, Oct. 21-23; DeVos Place in GR;  Meet TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, Batman/Superman artist Jae Lee, Game Of Thrones regular Julian Glover, Walking Dead and Star Trek: TNG alum Denise Crosby, and a lot more. Plus best selling authors, cosplay, giant vending hall, film festival, art shows, anime room, and a lot more! A great event for the entire family!

Kent Harvest Trails: Nearly 20 farms in the Greater Grand Rapids area are participating in the 2016 KENT HARVEST TRAILS, providing families the opportunity to enjoy loads of country fun. Activities and tours begin mid-September and run through the end of October (although farms may actually open sooner and extend their season into early November, weather permitting).
