MUSKEGON, MICH. - Runners in Muskegon have the chance to participate in a 5K this weekend, and also promote heart health and help out Muskegon High School students.
The Big Red Heart 5K is taking place at Muskegon High School June 17.
Runners and walkers can register to participate by visiting the event's page online. The run is free for people under the age of 18, and $20 for anyone older. You can register online or at the event starting at 7 a.m. The run itself begins at 8 a.m.
Runners will make three circles around Muskegon High School on W Southern Avenue to complete the 3.1 miles of the 5K.
Money raised from the event will go to fund scholarships for high school seniors who have a passion to go into the medical field in college.
If you'd like to drop off a donation, you can do so at Big Red Heart5K Association located on 559 Sawgrass Way in Kalamazoo.
