Special Olympics Michigan athletes to take part in golf skills competition

SOMI golf outing next week

OTSEGO, MICH. - Special Olympics Michigan athletes from seven West Michigan counties will benefit from a golf outing held at the Lynx Golf Course in Otsego on Monday, July 24!

The nine hole scramble and golf skills competition is a fundraiser for area athletes from Allegan, Kent, Barry, Calhoun, Ottawa, Kalamazoo and Muskegon Counties.

Athletes will show off their skills in chipping, putting, straightest drive and closest to the pin. An awards ceremony will follow.

To participate in the 9-hole scramble, contact Jim Szilagyi at the Lynx at 269-694-5969. Entry fee is $70 for an individual and $250 for a 4 person team. All the money raised goes to the local athletes who compete in Special Olympics Michigan.

More than 23,000 athletes participate in year-round sports through Special Olympics Michigan, which promotes acceptance and inclusion.
