GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Michigan educators and authors of the book "Benson's Adventures" would love for you to give the gift of this book for Christmas. It's a great book for all age groups and one families can share together.
Benson's Adventures in Michigan teaches children about Michigan in a fun, engaging and interactive approach. Students will learn many interesting fun facts about Michigan and Michigan's history.
Through postcards, fun facts, and kid-friendly challenges, Benson shares family adventures that are uniquely Michigan.
From the well-known Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, proclaimed the “Most Beautiful Place in America” by ABC’s Good Morning America, to Crane’s Pie Pantry Restaurant for apple pie “almost as good as Grandma’s” to outdoor fun at the Hiawatha National Forest to Sundown Safari at the Potter Park Zoo, and literally learning about time at the Shinola Watch Factory, Benson’s Adventures in Michigan showcases destinations and adventures that can only be found in the “Great Lakes State!”
Their second book will be on shelves May 1, 2017. It is titled: Benson's Seasonal Adventures.
There are many curriculum standards embedded within the book for social studies, science, math, reading and writing. Benson writes to children using the fun friendly postcard format to teach children all about Michigan.
Educators are also using Benson's Adventures in Michigan as a resource in their classrooms to create engaging writing lessons while also teaching science, social studies and math content.
There is a teacher's guide and parent's guide that can be downloaded for free at www.BensonsAdventures.com.
The guides teach parents how to use the book with their child and how to use their own community as a resource. The book and the guide provide that bridge between the school and the parents as the educators. The teacher's guide supports teachers in the different curricular areas while using Benson's Adventures in Michigan as a teaching tool within the classroom.
This book would make a great Christmas gift for children, families, and teachers.
