Cheese Suggestions Amid New Study

GRAND RAPIDS - With it's high fat content, Cheese isn't typically thought of as a heart-healthy food. A new review of studies, published in the European Journal of Nutrition, found a link between consumption of cheese and reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

From their findings, the team found that people who ate a small serving of cheese (about the size of a box of matches) regularly decreased their chances of developing coronary heart disease by 14 percent. The risk of having a stroke was lowered by 10 percent with this small helping of dairy.

Heather Zinn, The Cheese Lady Grand Rapids stopped by My West Michigan to share cheeses that you may want to consider.
