Crafting easy, affordable 'Thanksgiving tablescapes'

Thanksgiving 'tablescapes'

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Whether you've hosted Thanksgiving with the family for years or tackling the meal for the first time, you know that Thanksgiving decor usually takes a backseat to the food.  Our organization and decor expert, Sheila Wood-Gunneson of Consider It Done, has simple and affordable ways to make your Thanksgiving table the ultimate gathering place.

Tip 1: Invest wisely. Purchase items that won't go out of style for many years.

Tip 2: Creating a 'tablescape' doesn't have to be expensive. Watch for sales on seasonal decor.

Tip 3: Avoid purchasing knick knacks. Purchase a couple items you love to keep the table clutter-free.

What about the kids' table? Use craft paper as a table runner and have crayons, markers, and stickers for them to create their own masterpiece.
