GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - For the fourth year, kids and their grandparents are invited to attend camp together. Grand Rapids Community College is offering day camps for the different generations to spend time together.
It's part of what the Older Learner Center is offering this summer. Camps are each four week sessions that take place once a week on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Camps will focus on the seven dimensions of wellness, physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, environmental, and vocational.
The idea is to create a stronger bond between grandparent and grandchild by spending time together in an interactive setting. This is especially important with the increasing numbers of grandparents who are becoming the primary caretakers of their grandchildren.
The programs are provided by funding from the Older American's Act Title IIIE administered by the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan.
You can find out more about the camps and sign up for one by visiting the website at this link. You can also call 616-234-3800 to register.
