Summer 'stay-cations' in Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - You don't have to go far to have a wonderful vacation experience, here in Michigan there are so many choices.

Jeremy Witt from the West Michigan Tourist Association joined the Weekend Morning Team with some examples that are off the beaten path.

He suggested a mining adventure in Greenland, you can walk through tunnels and see large rooms where pure copper and silver was removed.

Witt also mentioned visiting the Kingman Museum in Battle Creek for a total solar eclipse watch party on Monday, August 21. They have tons of other events and exhibits happening throughout the summer.

The Lewis Farms & Petting Zoo in New Era is another option. It's a fifth-generation family farm, specializing in home-grown produce on 700 acres and their petting farm has over 75 animals.
