GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- ArtPrize is just six months away, but organizers are already introducing a new feature for this year's competition.
The ArtPrize website is getting a makeover. Webmasters introduced the new look Friday night.
The site is meant to be more user friendly, and accommodate the high traffic volumes that caused it to crash last year.
The new ArtPrize page also includes "Facebook Connect," which will allow people to talk about their ArtPrize experience online.
"When ArtPrize actually comes in September you'll actually be able to share your lists, share your favorite artists and socialize about the experience a lot easier," says marketing director Todd Herring. "The registration process at times some people don't want to necessarily register for yet another website. They already have a Facebook profile, so utilizing Facebook connect makes that just a one click option."
Venues can start registering for ArtPrize on the new website at noon on March 12. ArtPrize begins September 19.
