Eggo Waffles recalled due to Listeria

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Kellogg is recalling 10,000 cased of Eggo Waffles. The Nutri-Grain whole wheat waffles are being recalled because they have because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria.

No other Eggo products are impacted by this recall.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children,  or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The company has received no reports of illness to date but is taking this action as part of its commitment to the health and safety of the people who eat its foods.


Recalled product was distributed to customers and retailers in 25 states including Michigan.
