(WZZM) Greenthumb Rick Vuyst says there are many plants and flowers that are perfect for planting in the fall.
Swiss Chard is frost tolerant as is ornamental kale. Pansies are another great plant for the Fall. Rick says despite their name, they are actually very tough. In fact they should hide out under the snow this winter and then bloom again in the spring.
Chrysanthemums are another flower that Rick says you can get to come back in the spring. If you want them to come back, make sure you take them out of their container and plant them in the ground with a light mulch over the top.
