DIY Thanksgiving decoration ideas

Don't disappoint your holiday guests with drab decorations. I have a lot of easy ideas to jazz up your home, without breaking the bank. Most of the items I use are from the dollar store. You can also find them at any craft supply store.

Supplies needed for all crafts:

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Scissors

Harvest Corn Candle Holder

Supplies:

  • Glass Jar
  • Candle
  • Popcorn Kernels
  • Raffia
  • Burlap Ribbon

Step 1: Measure a piece of burlap ribbon around the center of the glass jar.

Step 2: Hot glue one end of the ribbon to the jar (in the center) wrap around, and hot glue the other end in place.

Step 3: Take a piece of Raffia and tie it around the center of the ribbon. Trim to desired length.

Step 4: Fill the jar halfway with popcorn kernels.

Step 5: place candle on kernels.

Candle Nest

Supplies: 

  • Round Stick Wreath
  • Wine Glass
  • Burlap Ribbon
  • Fake Leaves
  • Tealight Candle

Step 1: place leaves around inside of the wreath.

Step 2: set wine glass in center.

Step 3: fill wine glass with popcorn kernels.

Step 4: place candle in kernels.

Wine Glass Candle Holder

Supplies: 

  • Stemmed wine glass
  • Fake Leaves
  • Burlap Ribbon
  • Raffia
  • Tealight Candle

Step 1: fill wine glass with leaves.

Step 2: flip glass over, and tie burlap and Raffia around stem.

Step 3: place two leaves on top of the base.

Step 4: place candle on base.

Napkin Holders

Supplies: 

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Burlap
  • Raffia
  • Button or sticker

Step 1: cut toilet paper roll in half.

Step 2: hot glue burlap over the roll.

Step 3: tie raffia around center.

Step 4: hot glue button on center of the knot.

Step 5: place napkin and silverware inside holder.
