Literacy Center of West Michigan's Books for Bedtime book drive:
September 20-October 12
-Donate new and gently used children's books, up to the 9th grade
-Drop off books at any Macatawa Bank branch in Kent County, Macy's at Rivertown Crossings Mall, or University of Phoenix-West Michigan Campus
-Books will be donated to families in the Literacy Center's Family Literacy Program, Boys & Girls Club, D.A.Blodgett-St. John's, and Family Futures
-Goal is to collect over 4,000 books

Book for Bedtime kickoff:
September 20, Grand Rapids Children's Museum
-11am, story time and craft with Maranda
-5-7pm, Best Bedtime Cookie contest tasting
-Taste cookies from Cookie by Design, Desserts by Lori, Wednesday Evening Cookies, and Russo's
-You and your family can show your support for literacy and sign the Right to Literacy Scroll

Right to Literacy Scroll:
-Has traveled to over 100 cities and received more than 40,000 signatures, including Maya Angelou and Barbara Bush
-Goal is to get over 1,000 signatures from Grand Rapids residents
-Purpose of Scroll is to promote improving literacy through volunteering
