Morning Chat: Bid for Bachelors, Laughfest, Michigan Blood

(WZZM) -- Two of WZZM13's own took part in the Bid for Bachelors and Bachelorettes Auction on Saturday night. Traffic time's Dave Kaechele and reporter Hannah Saunders were up for grabs, to raise money for Friends and Families of Cystic Fibrosis.

Jennifer and Alana also talk about LaughFest's upcoming attempt to make it in the record books. Last year, they attempted to set the record most people wearing fake mustaches.

This year, organizers are hoping to break the world record for wearing sunglasses.... at night. Yes, like the Cory Hart song. The previous record was set at Wrigley Field in Chicago in 2012 with more than sixteen hundred people participating. The record attempt is on March 6th. People will line up at Rosa Parks Circle beginning at 5:30. At seven, there will be a practice run, then 7:15 is the official attempt to break the record.

LaughFest is also teaming up with Michigan Blood to boost blood donations. Kristen Nauss from Michigan Blood and Erik Wolenberg from Laughfest joined Jennifer and Alana to talk about the importance of these drives. Extreme winter weather has led to a blood shortage.

You can help out by going to the Michigan Blood Donation Center on Fuller, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Blood donors will receive a free t-shirt and High Five button, and a chance to win tickets to see Lily Tomlin, Chris Tucker or other shows during Laughfest.
