One Good Thing: Holland Police on Thanksgiving

A woman witnessed police officers helping another woman get some groceries.

HOLLAND, MICH - First of all, I hope your Holiday weekend was filled with good things. This One Good Thing happened on Thanksgiving, itself, when Michelle Slikkers made a last minute trip to a Meijer store in Holland.

In her Facebook post with the photo, Michelle admits she thought someone was being arrested for something when she saw the two cop cars out front. Instead, she saw officers Brian Spykerman and David Cyrus escorting a woman through the produce section. One of cops was pushing a cart. She overheard him say to the woman, "How about something to drink? Do you need some juice?"

Michelle said, "This wasn't the kind of drama I anticipated. This was two officers helping a woman who apparently needed some kindness." Michelle also says it reminded her that -- while she may not have it all -- she has all she needs.

Today's One Good Thing goes to the officers for helping a woman in need on Thanksgiving and to Michelle Slikkers for sharing the story.
