GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Humane Society of West Michigan stopped by with their sweet adoptable girl, Mija!
Mija is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/ Bulldog mix.
"She knows several commands, seems to be house trained, and loves to snuggle. Mija is currently too stressed to go home with another dog, but may do well with a male dog once comfortable in a home," according to the humane society.
They also advise that Mija's size and energy should be considered around small children.
The Humane Society of West Michigan provided some things to consider before adopting a pet:
If a new furry friend is on your family’s gift list this holiday season, be sure to adopt, not shop. We encourage people spend time thinking about their expectations before “gifting” an animal. A companion animal is a long-term commitment, and can be the best friend you could ever have. Be sure you're prepared to care for them for 15+ years.
The holiday season can put some families at additional risk if they are seeking to buy a companion animal. The commercial dog breeding industry times litters to be available for holiday purchases, which can add to the number of unhealthy pets on the market. It's important to not support these puppy mills by purchasing a dog from a store. Come visit HSWM to find a new family member!
