Toddlers - just look at and talk about pictures in books; clap syllables in words together; use cereal boxes and environmental print to get them to notice words; importance of repetition
Preschoolers - fill in rhyming words; play word games; make up new endings to favorite stories; the importance of dramatic play for language development
