Quilt Week wraps up at DeVos Place

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Quilt Week wraps up on Saturday at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids. More than 10 thousand people attend the expo to take in the beauty and art of more than 450 quilts on display.

Bonnie Browning, the Executive Director of Quilt Week, joined the WZZM13 Weekend Morning News to share more about what you can do in the last day of the event.

The American Quilters Society is hosting a series of workshops with some of the top talent in the quilt industry and an extensive merchant mart comprised of both local and national vendors. Over 450 quilts will be on display, with more than $50,000 in prizes to be awarded at the event for quilting excellence.

On Saturday, AQS certified quilt appraisers will be available to appraise new or antique quilts for insurance replacement or fair market values from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is an appraisal fee of $50 per quilt, payable at quilt check-in.
