Dugan's Pub & Grille shares its recipe for Honey Poached Nectarines with Hudsonville Vanilla Ice Cream.
4-6 nectarines, pitted and sliced (about 3 cups)
1/2 cup sweet dessert wine (Riesling or Gewurztraminer)
1 cup of water
1/4 cup honey
Zest of half an orange
half a vanilla bean, slit lengthwise
Pinch of cinnamon
Combine sliced nectarines, wine, water, orange zest, vanilla bean, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan; heat over medium heat to a simmer. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Cover and reduce heat to low; continue to cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until nectarines slices are tender. Transfer nectarines to serving dishes; discard pieces of vanilla.
Serve over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Serves 4 to 6.
