Toys for Tots ... A Community Service Project!
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve created Toys for Tots as a nationwide community service program in 1947.
Through the gift of a new toy, Toys for Tots provides happiness and hope to children who might otherwise be overlooked during the holiday season. The toys and funds collected in West Michigan are used to purchase toys locally, and all toys are then distributed to needy children in our local community. The national Toys for Tots program has over 300 cities participating, distributing over 10 million toys annually!

School Spirit Challenge
Join forces with West Michigan area students and show your school spirit!
School Spirit Challenge begins on November 24, and will be featured in the WZZM 13 morning newscast. WZZM 13 invites West Michigan schools to hold their own toy drives. Collect as many toys as you can at your school, then call WZZM 13 to report your daily "toy tally."
At the end of the campaign, WZZM 13 will invite a few participating schools to drop off the toys they've collected and appear on the "School Spirit Challenge Wrap-Up!" This years' Toys for Tots Wrap-Up will take place during the Dec. 12th Morning News, with Lauren Stanton, Derek Francis and Hally Vogel.

How to Register to Receive Toys
To find out if you qualify for the Toys for Tots program, or the holiday food basket program, call 211 or the Holiday Hotline at 616-459-2625. You may register from October 1 through the week of November 23, 2007.
