GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
In Michigan, the rate of lung cancer is higher than the national average. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among both men and women -- that's higher than colon, breast and prostate cancer combined.
Lung cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to treat because most of the time it isn't found until very late.
Medical Oncologist Dr. Yuanbin Chen with Cancer & Hematology Centers of Western Michigan talks with health reporter Valerie Lego new research that is showing promise in treating lung cancer and clinical trials available right here in West Michigan for lung cancer patients.
