Cuba's 'cancer vaccine': What it is, how it works

Some Americans with advanced lung cancer are heading to Cuba for something called the "cancer vaccine."

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - When you think about Cuba, you probably imagine 1950s cars, pristine beaches and good food.

You probably don't think about Cuba as a place to go for a cure for cancer, but some Americans with advanced lung cancer are heading there for something called the "cancer vaccine." 

Dr. Judy Smith, Chief of the Spectrum Health Cancer Center, talks with health reporter Valerie Lego about the innovative vaccine called Cimavax, which uses the body’s immune system to attack the disease.
