GRAND HAVEN, MICH. - After four years of planning, North Ottawa Community Health System, or NOCHS, is opening its new transformational emergency room
The $9.67 million project focuses on a totally new model of emergency care.
"This project is one of great pride for NOCHS and our community, because we did it together. It’s was built from the patient, up," said Shelleye Yaklin, NOCHS President and CEO in a news release. "There isn’t one inch of this space or one protocol happening within it, that hasn’t been passionately and persistently thought about for years.
"This is more than an investment in our community’s immediate health, it’s an investment in its long-term wellbeing.”
ER includes unique collaboration that blends medical expertise with mental health and social service agencies to manage patients with chronic conditions and mental illness.
If you’d like a look at the new transformational emergency room you can attend on of two open houses scheduled:
Wednesday, Nov. 16 -- open house tours available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Tours start in the event tent staged outside the main ER entrance. Guest parking available on the hospital campus, just follow the event parking signs to designated lots off of Taylor Avenue.
