GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - More and more children are being raised by their grandparents these days. In fact, according to AARP, about 37 percent of Michigan households show grandparents who are responsible for their grandchildren.
These households have unique needs and sometimes need a little extra support. That's why Sandra Ghoston-Jones from the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan joined the WZZM 13 Noon News Tuesday -- to talk about a support group for grandparents.
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group is funded by Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan through the Older Americans Act.
The support group meets at United Methodist Community House in Grand Rapids.
The group meets the second Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
