Madiey Twyman will sing in front of thousands of runners and spectators on May 12 before the run starts.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Fifth Third River Bank Run held a contest to see who would sing the National Anthem at the 41st annual run.

Madiey Twyman won the competition on Monday night, April 23. "I've sang at big events before, but nothing that's televised or publicized out there," she said.

This marks the first time that the River Bank Run held a live singing competition. Twyman will sing in front of thousands of runners and spectators on May 12 before the run starts.

Thirteen finalists competed in the National Anthem contest at the BOB on Tuesday night.
