Celebrate Earth Day by getting rid of your junk

Donatable items include appliances, furnishings, clothing, electronics, toys, games and building materials.

This Sunday is Earth Day, and Matt McKinney from 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Grand Rapids sat down to talk about how we can be environmentally-conscious not only on Earth Day, but throughout the entire year.

Each day 1-800-GOT-JUNK? teams across the country collect as much junk as they can. More than three-quarters of what is collected is either recycled or donated to charity. Recyclable materials include green waste, household items and appliances, construction and demolition debris, metal, glass, paper, plastic, electronics and tires.

Donatable items include appliances, furnishings, clothing, electronics, toys, games and building materials.

Starting today and throughout the entire weekend, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Grand Rapids is offering 1/2 off removal of any electronic (TV, microwave or computer), plus $25 off any regular junk removal.
