GRCC's tuition increase is the lowest in nearly 20 years

This tuition increase is the smallest since the 0.9 percent in the 1999-2000 year.

Grand Rapids Community College trustees approved the lowest tuition increase in nearly two decades. For the 2018-2019 school year, there will be a 0.88 percent increase.

The new tuition rate was approved unanimously by the board on Tuesday, March 20.

The in-district tuition rate with the increase is $114 per credit hour. This tuition increase is the smallest since the 0.9 percent in the 1999-2000 year.

For a full-time student, their costs be will just under $4,000 for the academic year.

GRCC aims to keep their education affordable and accessible. The college was established in 1914, and it offers degree courses, certification and training programs and workshop classes.

There are classes at GRCC's downtown Grand Rapids campus as well as at several locations throughout Kent and Ottawa counties.
