On this Friends for Life Day, an update on an effort to provide chemo hats to cancer patients. Sharon Bouth started "Cathy's Caps" at her home in 2014.
Bouth started sewing them in her basement as a way to help her grieving husband who lost his daughter to cancer.
This week the organization reached a milestone as volunteers dropped off a delivery to Mercy Health's Lacks Cancer Center in Grand Rapids. The delivery included the 10,000 cap they have donated to cancer patients at 24 locations in Michigan and three other states.
Sharon relies on donations for everything; from gently worn ladies knit tops to make the hats, to sewers and delivery drivers. You can find out more by going the "Cathy's Chemo Caps Facebook page.
