Detroit Sewn, located in downtown Pontiac, is one of Michigan only full-service cut and sew manufacturer for the state's apparel industry. They cut and stitch everything from t-shirts and joggers to dresses, basketball shorts and even pillow cases and dog beds.

The business was founded by Karen Buscemi, the former editor of Styleline Magazine, according to our ABC affiliate, WJRT, in Flint.

Products are made in the 5,000-square foot former bank building are shipped out daily -- all across the nation. Detroit Sewn isn't shipping internationally, but Buscemi expects that to be happening soon.

Detroit Sewn is home to Tierra Reign, the fall children's line designed by the MTV's Teen Mom couple, Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra.

The Made in Michigan, especially in connection to Detroit, is an allure that has lead to steady business for the company and has allowed Detroit Sewn to add new jobs at a rapid pace.

A new project with the auto industry will soon give Detroit Sewn another reason to add even more staff to their growing team, but Buscemi couldn't release many details just yet.
