Grand Rapids & Forest Hills students make a difference -- and you can too!

Friday, April 20 marks the kickoff to Global Youth Service Day, around 500 local students are helping out.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- It's a day the Heart of West Michigan United Way looks forward to every year.

On Friday, April 20, around 500 students from the Grand Rapids Public and Forest Hills Public school districts will be joining together to make a difference for Global Youth Service Day.

The students will break off into teams to work at 11 different locations, helping 14 different non-profit organizations.

The Heart of West Michigan United Way invites you to help out as well. If you want to volunteer on your own, or with your family, they have a volunteer guide on their website.
