Muskegon County police hope to put the brakes on distracted driving

On Thursday and Friday, June 8 and 9, police will be stepping up enforcement and making sure people are attentive when they're behind the wheel.

We've all been annoyed by people texting and driving -- and officers in Muskegon County want you to put all those activities on hold.

On Thursday and Friday, June 8 and 9, they will be stepping up enforcement and making sure people are attentive when they're behind the wheel. However, they haven't said which areas they will be monitoring.

Participating departments will be watching out for drivers texting or talking on their cell phones. They say they want to stop drivers from doing anything that takes their attention off the road.
