The owner of a a Muskegon daycare where a 14-month-old child died, has withdrawn her no contest plea in the case.
Keysha Collins withdrew the plea of second-degree attempted child neglect after the judge withdrew a commitment to not send her to jail.
In April, Korey Landon Brown was found unresponsive in a playpen at Keysha's Keepers daycare. Police say an 8 year old may be responsible for his death.
Collins, who operates the daycare out of her home, entered the no contest plea in August. The agreement meant that she would be placed on probation and not serve any time in jail.
Muskegon County Circuit Judge William Marietti authorized the deal. In a court brief from Oct. 2, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat asked the judge to reconsider the deal because his office failed to provide victim impact information to the judge.
Collins withdrew her plea after Marietti agreed to pull out of the commitment. Collins will now go to trial on second degree child neglect charges.
No court date has been scheduled.
