Watch: Press conference with women accusing Larry Nassar of sexual assault

A victim impact statement from McKayla Maroney and her mother were released by her attorneys.

Larry Nassar, the former MSU and USA Gymnastics doctor whose work took him to multiple Olympic games, was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in federal prison on child pornography charges to which he's admitted.

Some of the women who have accused Nassar held a news conference following the sentencing. A victim impact statement from McKayla Maroney and her mother were released by her attorneys and you can read them at the bottom of this story.

Here are a few quotes from Wednesdays press conference:

Rachel Denhollander, former gymnast and the first to go public with sexual abuse allegations: "MSU and USAG enabled who is arguably the greatest pedophile in U-S history. For more than 20 years. More often than not, enabling looks like deliberate indifference to complaints of sexual assault, it takes the form of authority figures silencing victims and siding with abusers."
Tiffany Thomas, former softball player at MSU and one of the first victims to complain to MSU about Nassar in 1999. Nothing was done. "I just want them to say something. Yes, we understand. We're sorry. Something."

The women are asking that MSU release the results of its internal investigation. The university denies any cover-up of Nassar’s behavior.

Here’s a timeline of Nassar’s decades-long career and the allegations against him. This will continue to be updated.

Here's a map of key people and connections in the Nassar cases. This will continue to be updated.
