The punishments have been handed down.
This afternoon, Major League Baseball announced the suspensions of four players and one manager from yesterday’s Detroit Tigers-New York Yankees game, which featured a bean-ball war, three benches-clearing episodes and eight ejections.
From the Tigers, first baseman Miguel Cabrera was suspended seven games. After right-hander Michael Fulmer hit Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez in the top of the sixth inning, righty Tommy Kahnle threw behind Cabrera in the next half inning.

Kahnle and New York manager Joe Girardi were ejected. As Cabrera stepped back into the box, he initiated a fight with catcher Austin Romine.
Romine was ejected shortly thereafter.
Cabrera is in the starting lineup, batting fourth and playing first base, as the Tigers take on the White Sox in Chicago (8:10 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit). There's no official word on if Cabrera will appeal the suspension.
Also from the Tigers, righty reliever Alex Wilson – who hit Todd Frazier in the eighth inning and admitted to doing so intentionally afterwards – was suspended four games.
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was also suspended one game. He was ejected after Wilson hit Frazier.
Fulmer did not get suspended. Jose Iglesias was fined an undisclosed amount for his role in Thursday's game, according to MLB.com.
On the Yankees’ side, Sanchez, who was spotted punching Cabrera while he was in the middle of the melee, received a four-game suspension and Romine got a two-game ban.
New York righty reliever Dellin Betances, who hit catcher James McCann in the head with a fastball, was not suspended.
