MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO - The Grand Rapids Drive played in the first round of the NBA G League playoffs on Friday night, March 30.
This was their first game since teammate Zeke Upshaw collapsed on the court last weekend from a "sudden cardiac death," according to the Kent County Medical Examiner.
The Drive took on the defending champions, the Raptors 905—a team from Ontario, Canada.
The final score was 92-88, and in a Facebook post the team said, "Season comes to an end tonight in Mississauga after a hard fought battle against the defending champs."
The Drive also remembered and honored Upshaw by putting "Zeke" patches on their jerseys, wearing "Upshaw" shirts and placing Upshaw's jersey on a chair in the locker room.
The Detroit Pistons also remembered Upshaw on Thursday, March 29 with an honorary call-up.
