Annual 'Teddy Bear Toss' at the Griffins game

Fans are encouraged to bring new, store-tagged teddy bears and stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after the Griffins score their first goal.

Grand Rapids Griffins fans headed to Van Andel Arena tonight should bring one extra item to their seat -- a teddy bear.

The annual Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Hug-A-Bears of Kent County is back. Fans are encouraged to bring new, store-tagged teddy bears and stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after the Griffins score their first goal.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. The Griffins are hosting the Mantioba Moose.
